Viola Kusasira, Journalist
Hello friends and lovers. Haha! That last part.
Welcome to my blog. It's awesome to have you share 'my little world' here.
Briefly ... I am Viola Kusasira, a journalist from Uganda. Life is just awesome. You will discover soon!
LET'S TALK ...
I hope you still awaken to find a reason to smile amidst this raving pandemic.
Just a quick but important distraction ...
It's about staying in touch with your core self, especially in times like these.
I have worked before and i know you know what it's like to sometimes lose yourself into that job, that friendship that relationship, that new passion, family and wake up each day trying to keep it alive and flourishing only to have it come towering down on you. You remain but a shell of your former self (we shall discuss this next) - the little kid that wanted to become spiderman, wonderwoman (yeah, that beauty too), the one that had so much fire and passion they could take over the world. Pose there! You feel that?! Trying to remember what it was like? When you pestered your dad to take you to your favourite icecream spot and couldn't stop till he did?
Why then have you stopped? Why have you killed the fire? Why are you COMFORTABLE!?
I can hear lots of answers and whispers from your hearts and i love the enthusiasm to answer but let's examine it real closely.
Regardless of what you persued in life, i know there was a time when you knew nothing could stop you. No matter where you went, you carried with you that undying spirit to finish the job. This pushed you and accompanied you through and through the turbulences of life to where you are now. Then why give up all of a sudden? Okay, i partly get why ... there have been moments that you have been bored with life in itself, let down by family, friends, colleagues, by your dear circles that you had so carefully crafted to suit your journey, only to find yourself alone. Maybe sometimes you're bored by routine - the predictable nature of most of your days that you can easily auto-pilot through them, thus the bored unenthusiastic energy that spreads throughout the rest of your life and just like that, you give up. The spark is gone.
True, it happens a lot and to so many people. It's like a life block but from experience, the key is that you notice it and attack it head on and maybe then can you stay 'alive' long enough to make it to the other side. It's in that little spark you are able to keep throughout it all that a flame can be born once again.
But how do we get to keep that spark long enough to lead us to the other side? First, identify the things that keep you connected to the you. The most enthusiastic you. The 11 year old in you that was so inquisitive and never gave up. It could be your love for color and design, your love for ice cream, travel or a certain movie or documentary that takes you back in time. Stay in touch with this long enough to where life can put you back on your feet, through your daily intention to live and to be better, rather than just sleep walk through the day and end up home with takeaway to wait for the next day and again and again. No matter what it is that has killed your vibe, just hang in there, don't let go just yet. Keep on! It's in such moments that something clicks and you're unstoppable from there on.
All the best! Ciao Adios!
Giving up on yourself for whatever reason is something very common. The best ideas that change societies and communities are those that are developed through life from the innocent stages. When someone gives up on that Idea, it's the loss of the entire society. All inventions, art pieces, clothing designs and great music have all been dreams that people didn't give up on when growing up.
ReplyDeleteThank you for pointing that out.
You're welcome unknown 🙂
DeleteNever ever give up! I will remember to always do the same.
Hey there friend☺...thanks for the mind probing read. There are so many 'whys', but I think they are more an excuse or maybe fears. The treasure is indeed in not giving up and taking that opportunity when it comes up. Thanks Viola.
ReplyDeleteThank Gracie for shutting the 'whys'. It's remarkable progress.
DeleteNice!
